Pécs and Mohács National Memorial In between smelly days, I mean spa days, I thankfully got some fresh air on my outings with the Oldies. No stay in Harkány would be complete without a trip to wonderful Pécs. It was fun to revisit some familiar sights and be reminded why we all like this city so much. And once again, I got a chance to cool down in the famous Zsolnay fountain. On that note, we finally got to visit…

Storks 4

Storks 4

White Stork Museum, Kölked Skopje is far behind us and we are making a beeline through Serbia. The pick of Pécs

The pick of Pécs

After getting their fill of spas and vineyards, the Oldies felt ready to tackle another city, this time Pécs, close to the Croatian border and only 25km from Harkány. What a beautiful town. Villainy in the vineyards

Harkany and Villany, Hungary We’ve moved on to our next station, Harkány, and I suspect my owners will be more than happy to dally a while. The campsite is very good value, close to the town centre, practically next door to the spa, the facilities are top notch, and there are very few campers staying here at the moment. The Oldies are true spa converts by now and couldn’t wait to take the plunge. I was amazed at the size of the…

Sojourn in Serbia

Sojourn in Serbia

Another first for me: a visit to my first non-EU country. Serbia here I come! Already on crossing the border first impressions are good. No beak-rattling roads here. It is a smooth ride into the small town of Kanjiža where we stop to go a stroll and to get some local currency. I somehow think we won’t manage to get through all these dinars today, with prices such as 20c for a kilo of watermelon, €2 for a pack of…
